Kahapon ng gabi, Biyernes, Inutos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagsususpindi o pagsasara ng lahat ng mga scheme ng laro na pinamamahalaan, lisensyado, at franchise ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) dahil sa "massive corruption."
"I have today ordered the closure, the stoppage of all gaming schemes sa... whatever nature, however done, that got the franchises to do from the PCSO. The ground is massive corruption involving all, pati the courts who repeatedly issued injunctions to paralyze government and to allow corruption to thrive," - sinabi ng Pangulo
I will not Allow It
"Wala ako magawa. I have to do it. I will not honor transactions that are clearly on the side of, you know, scheming people, Republic of the Philippines, of the money due it. Puro dayaan lahat. At 'yung mga kontrata ay parang crafted in favor of corruption and to favor other corporations and people. I will not allow it," dagdag nito
Iniutos din ng Pangulong Duterte sa pulisya at militar na agad ipatupad ang kanyang utos upang i-shut down ang lahat ng operasyon sa pasugal ng PCSO tulad ng lotto, Peryahan ng Bayan, maliit na bayan lottery (STL), at Keno.
Binigyan din ng Pangulong Duterte ng 24-oras na tanggaling ang PSCO Gambl1ng Schemes sa lahat ng pampublikong lugar.
"Since as of this moment beginning now, the licenses and franchises of whatever kind or nature granted by the PCSO as to all gambling schemes lotto peryahan ng bayan, STL, and those machines there that can be found everywhere, I will give them 24 hours to remove them from the public places," Duterte said.
